Below is Some Special Advice for Better oral Health
- Brush twice a day (Once right before bed… no eating or drinking afterward except water!)
- Floss once a day (Whenever! At the time of brushing or during American Idol!)
- Use a fluoride toothpaste (fluoride is proven to strengthen enamel and making it more resistant to decay- look for products with the ADA seal)
Frayed bristles? Not good… use less force and go a little longer. Aim for 2 minutes and use the softest bristled brush available.
Some patients may be prescribed a special high strength fluoride if multiple cavities or what appears to be the start of a cavity. Use this toothpaste just before bed like normal toothpaste but no rinsing!! Leave it coating the teeth during sleep for maximum effectiveness. Many times small “starts” of cavities can be reversed…no filling needed!
